SDF clears its stand on boycotting Assembly session,reiterates appointment of PS Golay as CM unconstitutional and undemocratic

Sikkim Democratic Front party has criticised the statement of the Chief Minister PS Tamang given on the second day of the ongoing Assembly session that the boycott of the assembly session by SDF legislators was the black day of Sikkim history. The opposition SDF party claimed that the incident took place on 02 May during the oath taking ceremony of newly elected legislators in Sikkim Legislative Assembly was the black day in State Assembly history.
A SDF press release issued by its spokesperson, JB Darnal stated that the entire country and world had witnessed in the social media that SKM government failed to uphold the dignity and decorum of the State Assembly. The release added that using of unparliamentarily, undemocratic and inappropriate words against the former CM Pawan Chamling and other legislators of SDF in the holy place like Assembly by SKM supporters was the black day in the political history of the country. The release added that it was total failure of the SKM government that the State Assembly has not been able to take any action against the anti-social element who attacked the longest serving CM and a senior leader of the country. It is added that the decision of SDF legislators to boycott the Assembly session until PS Golay would remain the CM as appointed in unconstitutional and undemocratic system was the principle stand of the party legislators to maintain the decorum of the Assembly. The party has already cleared its stand in the print and social media, it is added.
The release stated that Mr Golay won 2009 assembly election from Upper Burtuk constituency and although being the Minister for 15 long years he was not inducted in the council of Minister in 2009 due to his corruption case in the country. By taking the same issue, he stood against the government and not participated in any proceeding and discussion in the assembly session from 2009 to 2014 in the interest of the people, it is added. The release added that the attendance register of the assembly has its proof and even Mr Golay well known about this fact. On the same, the SDF party questioned that he stated that the people of the constituency will suffer in the absence of their representative then what he has to say about his absence in the assembly from 2009-14. The release further questioned that how many sessions did he attend after again being elected in 2014 from Upper Burtuk. It is added that Mr Golay ran away from the responsibility of a legislators on not able to tolerate the defeat in 2014 election and lost from the State for long time. On the same, the opposition party suggested him for the self-contemplation on his mistake on this issue.
The release questioned that whether his expectation from the former CM in the Assembly was from the heart or just a drama to improve his image. On the same, it is stated that he became just a spectator when anti-social elements insulted the former CM. The release asserted that this incident could be a conspiracy took place in his direction. It is added that to give statement of unaware on the incident while replying the media query was totally an irresponsible statement of the CM.
