Roshnila Gurung, a resident of Jorethang South Sikkim represented the State and the country in the 9th IIMS International Conference held at Hanoi Industrial University, Hanoi, Vietnam on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2019.
The conference was held on the subject ‘Managing Ecological Changes for Global Development:Challenges and Policies and was organized by world-renowned educational federations all over the globe namely International Institute of Management Sciences, Kolkata, Hanoi Industrial University, Auckland Institute of Studies, New Zealand, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia, Cavite State University, Philippines, Xuzhou University of Technology, China, Shih Chien university Taiwan,The Australian Academy of commerce, Australia and Institute of Research & Application,India.
Ms. Roshnila presented her paper titled “Learning from the Lepchas: Intangible heritage as a gateway to Ecological Solutions” which was well received by the participants and the partner Universities. Her paper will also be recommended by the reviewing committee for publication in their respective countries.
It may be noted that Ms. Roshnila has already represented India in the past in countries such as Lativa, Florence Italy and also been the first Sikkimese to be ever selected and attended to the prestigious Youth Assembly in the United Nations Headquarters in New York in the year 2017.
