In his condolence message, Governor wrote “I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news of demise of Shri Sudarshan Agarwal, Former Governor of Uttarakhand and Sikkim following a prolonged illness at New Delhi in the evening on 3rd July 2019.
Having served in different capacity as a bureaucrat and later as constitutional head of Uttarakhand and Sikkim during his illustrious career, Late Sudarshan Agarwal has left indelible imprint in the minds of people he served by way of his administrative skills and relentless concern towards welfare of common man. In a short span of time in Sikkim from 25th October 2007 to 8th July 2008 as Governor, he had endeared the people of Sikkim and had upheld the sanctity of Raj Bhavan as an institution through his indomitable persona. His quest of women empowerment through education and equity keeps his apart from his contemporaries.
His demise has left behind a huge void and country has lost a sympathiser of common man in true sense, who always worked for their larger interest.
At this time of bereavement, I join the people of Sikkim to offer my deepest condolences. I pray to the almighty for bestowing strength to the family members to cope with this irreparable loss.”
