State Sports Academy has secured full three points from its big margin victory on Wednesday in the ongoing Premier Division Sikkim-League 2019 here at Paljor Stadium. Four goals by Karma Bhutia helped the State Sports Academy to humbled Unicorn Football Club 7-0.
Both teams have launched attacks and counter-attacks from the start to take the lead in the match but by missing some good opportunities to net the goal the first half ended goalless draw.
SSA players maintained a constant pressure on the opponent with continuous attacks and Sagar Gurung netted the lead for SSA in the 50th minute. Soon, Karma Bhutia added another goal for SSA in the 58th minute and extended the team lead to 3-0 with his brace in the 75th minute.
While Unicorn FC players playing their hearts out to bounce back into the match, Lensong Lepcha extended the lead of SSA to 4-0 in the 79th minute. Karma Bhutia scored his hattrick in the 85th minute and further taken the lead of SSA to 6-0 with his fourth goal in the 90th minute. Finally, Lakpa Sherpa sealed 7-0 victory of SSA with his goal in the injury time of the match.
Before the match, two-minute silence was also observed to pay homage on the sad demise of the former Chief Secretary, ND Chingapa.
On Tuesday, Kumar Sporting Football Club has outplayed Boys Club, Gangtok by 2-0 to add three more points in the point tally of the league.
