Sikkim’s shooting talent Devanshi Agarwal bags a rich haul of thirteen medals for her Ecole Global International Girls’ School, Dehradun in the 18th Uttarakhand Open State Level Shooting Championship. The championship was held at Jaspal Rana Shooting Range, Dehradun, from 25 to 31 August. Her medal tally included two gold, six silver, and five bronze. She was declared the highest individual medalist of the school.
Tussita Rai, other Sikkimese girl at the same school went on to bag three gold, silver and a bronze; a total of 5 medals. Speaking to Sanket Agarwal, father of Devanshi Agarwal at Singtam, he has praised the efforts of the school for making a big impact at the event. The participating students of Ecole went on to grab 98 medals in 22 events they had participated. The proud father added he is pleased with her daughter’s effort and congratulated Shiv Lal Dogra, HOD, Sports and Shooting Coach, Ecole Global International Girls’ School for his enthusiasm and motivation towards the shooting team.
Distinguished guests present at the event included Jagdeep Singh, Director, Sports Department, Haryana, Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, Sushma Singh, Vice President, Indian Rifle Association and Narayan Singh Rana of the State Rifle Association.
