Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) organised a program on “Stakeholders Feedback Diwas of New GST Returns” today as a part of Nation-wide program held throughout India on this day. In Sikkim, the program in this feedback exercise was organized at the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, CGST and Central Excise, Gangtok Division, Lower Sichey, Gangtok as well as in Rangpo and Jorethang which was attended by prominent Tax Payers, Organization/Associates representing taxpayers, Tax Consultants, GST Practitioners and Traders. The exercise was aimed at obtaining direct feedback from the stakeholders on new GST returns which would be rolled out from 01.04.2020. An outreach program for filing of new GST returns and Sabka Vishwas (Legal Dispute Resolution) Scheme, 2019 had been also held on 06.12.2019 at the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, CGST and Central Excise, Gangtok to familiarized the taxpayer about new GST return. The taxpayers were also familiarized with the Sabka Viswas (Legal Dispute Resolution) Scheme, 2019 which is a onetime measure for liquidation of past disputes of Central Excise and Service Tax having unique feature like relief upto 70% in tax dues and complete waiver of interest, penalty and fine.
