Minister Samdup Lepcha directs BRO, NHPC officials to start restoration work

Situation near Dikchu RCC bridge (Dam Site HEP, NHPC Stage -V) is in critical state as incessant rain has damaged 50 % of Mangan-Dikchu road and is in the verge of collapse and the situation have worsen from yesterday night. Immediate action is need to protect the road and RCC bridge which is the only lifeline to the people living in and around Dikchu.
Minister, Roads & Bridges, Culture & Heritage department, Samdup Lepcha visited the affected site today. He was accompanied by ADC(N), Somnath Adhikari, SP(N), S. G. Bhutia, AEE, BRO, Rajat Agarwal, General manager (Incharge), NHPC HEP Stage V, S. Khatwa, Forest department official and Panchayats
Minister Lepcha has directed the NHPC HEP stage V and BRO officials to carry up protection of Dikchu lifeline highway road and RCC bridge.
The BRO and NHPC HEP stage V officials informed that they will start protection works within 5-7 days as they need to bring materials and it may take 4-5 days to manage all the required materials, inputs, machines and working staffs at priority basis.
