The recently formed forum against Citizenship (Amendment) Act, Sikkim Against CAA has alleged that the State government was not clear on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. The forum has also criticized the statement of the Chief Minister on the CAA during the Rolu Picnic organized by Sikkim Krantikari Morcha on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference here today, a SACAA member, Passang Sherpa has expressed his objection for not speaking a single word to implement the Inner Line Permit to save Sikkim from the CAA. He further alleged that the State government was not serious and clear on the CAA. While mentioning that there were possibilities of amendment in the CAA so in such case the State government should remain active and vigilant.
Another member, Nawin Kiran stated that the forum has been formed mainly to aware people on the CAA and to take the movement forward against the act. He informed that the forum would organize series of programmes on create awareness on the issue. The press conference was also addressed by other members of the forum.
