Golay has turned the sports program into party’s public meeting: SDF

Sikkim Democratic Front party has criticized the speech of the Chief Minister PS Golay given on Friday on the second day of the State Boxing Championship 2019 at Sonamati Memorial senior secondary school playground at Khamdong in East Sikkim. SDF party asserted that such speech of the CM transformed the boxing championship into the party public meeting.
A SDF press release issued by its spokesperson, JB Darnal mentioned that the CM announced to give arrears of the government employees after the budget session in a single instalment. On the same, the release added that arrear was the fundamental right of employees and was not the mercy, love or donation from the CM. The release added that not to speak a single word on boxing in the boxing championship was very sad and the CM speech has saddened all sports lovers. The CM speech has proved that SKM government does not have any programme for sports and sportspersons, it is added. It is further added that in his 30 minutes long speech the CM did not address any people’s issue but spent whole time in accusing the opposition party. The release said that the CM tried to gain the sympathy of the people by speaking on himself in this event organised by non-political organisation. Speaking on the announcement of the CM to present a big gift to the people of Khamdong-Singtam very soon, the release stressed that it should not limit upto the speech of the CM only.
The release stated that except for announcing holiday on every Saturday the CM has not fulfilled any other promise made in the election manifesto. The release questioned that does the SKM government has fulfilled its promise to provide appointment letters to candidates on the basis of their written examinations without taking viva. The release informed that the CM also mentioned that the government has taken the austerity measures and using of Scorpio vehicles by the CM and Ministers. On the same, the release questioned that how much the government was spending in buying new Scorpio vehicles by not using the existing Fortuners and in repairing the Circuit House by not staying at Mintokgang.
