The delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party, Sikkim Unit called on Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, who is on two-day visit of Sikkim from 26th August.
The delegation was led by President of BJP, Sikkim DB Chauhan followed by seven legislators of the party, DT Lepcha, Ugen T. Gyatso Bhutia, DR Thapa, Tashi Thendup Bhutia, Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, Rajkumari Thapa and Farwanti Tamang including General Secretary SB Karki, Treasurer GD Agarwal, East District President YT Lepcha and other party functionaries said in a press release issued by BJP State President.
During the meeting, Party delegation informed Union the Minister of State Arjun Ram Meghwal about the developmental works being carried out in the state of Sikkim. The role of the centre in development of Sikkim in coming days was also discussed with Minister during the meeting. In the meanwhile delegation informed the Union Minister of State that the visionary policies of the central government led by Shri Narendra Modi and the courageous decisions in the national interest are very pleasing to the people of the Sikkim. Mr. Meghwal was also informed about the ongoing widespread membership campaign and organizational expansion of Bharatiya Janata Party in all four districts of Sikkim release added.
In the meanwhile, the Union Minister of State Meghwal has assured the delegation that all the issues in his acquaintance for the development of Sikkim will be presented before the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also said that the central government will not spare any effort in the development of Sikkim. During this period, he expressed happiness over the organizational expansion of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state and called for strengthening the party in Sikkim in the coming days.
It may be recalled that Arjun Ram Meghwal, who was the Minister of State for Finance in the previous government, is now Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. During the two-day visit to Sikkim, he met with the Governor and the Chief Minister of the state and introduced a new scheme called FAME India Scheme, and also discuss about the scheme with the state BJP team.
