Gangtok Times Report
Gangtok, June 28
A senior leader and former Minister of Sikkim Democratic Front party, Tshering Wangdi Lepcha has questioned the list of achievements issued yesterday by the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government on the completion of its one month in the State. He asserted that SKM government has not been able to give any development to the people of Sikkim in last one month. He further asserted that claims of various achievements by SKM government were all false.
Mr Lepcha mentioned that to give holiday on every Saturday to the government employees cannot be taken as an achievement but it was just an administrative process. He further stated that the claim of the government of the enhanced daily wages of MRNREGA workers by increasing wages of skilled and semi-skilled workers was also not an achievement. On the same, he stated that in any work there were only 5% of skilled and semi-skilled workers and having 95% of unskilled workers so there was no any increase of wages of unskilled workers. He asserted that injustice to 95% of workers of MGNREGA cannot be taken as an achievement. ‘
Former Minister also refuted the claim of the ruling government on the regularization of 342 employees of National Health Mission. He stated that the memorandum for these employees was prepared by the SDF government for regularisation but due to enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct it could not be distributed. On the same, he stated that the present government has just distributed these memorandums so the SKM government should not take the credit of this achievement.
Mr Lepcha also rejected the claim of the present government on the appointment of Sanskrit teacher. He informed that the process for the appointment for Sanskrit teacher was started in SDF government and interview was also carried out before the election but could not able to distribute the memorandum due to the election process. On the same, he asserted that SKM government should not take credit of this achievement.
On One Family One Job issue, former Minister stated that SDF government had allocated Rs 100 crores for OFOJ employees in vote of accounts. He questioned that why the present government was not giving salaries to these employees. He further questioned on this Rs 100 crores allocated by SDF government and asserted that it was the failure of the present government on not able to give salaries despite of allocations of money in the vote of accounts.
Mr Lepcha stressed that SKM government should tell the people of Sikkim on what happen to its promises to do within one month of the government formation in the State.
