District Collector cum Magistrate (DC),East Sikkim District, Gangtok, Kapil Meena, IAS visited Indane Bottling Plant, Rangpo and Rangpo Depot.
Senior Depot Manager (SDM), Rangpo Depot, R Sanal welcomed him inthe Depot and briefed him on the Operations, Safety and Security aspects of the Depot . Meena visited the Depot facilities and reviewed the Depot Operations.
Then Mr. Meena was welcomed with traditional Khada by Plant Manager(PM), Rangpo BP, Suman Tamang in the LPG Plant. He was thenprecisely briefed through presentation by the Plant Manager on theOperations, Safety and Security aspects of the Plant. Plant Manager also shared on the Safety & Security related activities being regularly scheduled and conducted in the Plant, the Plant achievements over the past years and the Green Initiatives taken by Indane Bottling Plant, Rangpo, such as conversion of 100% conventional lighting into LED lightings, Implementation of the Solar Power Plant and Rain Water Harvesting System. Also he apprised the District Collector about the considerable approach towards CSR initiatives of Indian Oil in the past and also the ongoing CSR works which included the Construction of the Toilet block in Govt. Jr. Secondary School at Singlebong and Supply of Desktop PCs in Govt. ITI School, Rangpo.
Mr. Meena visited the Plant facilities and reviewed the Plant Operations along with conducting of Random Quality Check (RQC) of the cylinders being filled in the Plant. Then, through his hand, newly installed ‘O’ Ring leak detector (OLD) machine and Valve Leak detector (VLD) machine were inaugurated. Shri. PranabeshPatra, Operations Officer, Rangpo BP explained the functionality and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the machines.
Lastly, He appreciated Indane Bottling Plant, Rangpo and Rangpo Depot for maintaining continuous supply of LPG and POL products respectively in the state of Sikkim and for properly practicing the safety procedures .
