The premier show of a Limboo feature film, Thetlong will be held on 21 September here at Manan Kendra. This is the first Limboo language feature film produced from Sikkim based on a Limboo novel, Thetlong.
The film has been produced under the banner of Opera Entertainment and directed by Kishore Subba. Bishal Senehang and Dibya Limboo are in the lead role and also having Sanjeeta Subba, Munna Subba and other artists from Sikkim in supporting roles. The film has subtitles in English. There are four songs in the film.
Addressing a press conference here today, producer of the film, Mani Tamling mentioned that this was the first Limboo feature film produced from Sikkim based on a Limboo novel. He added that around 2-hour long feature film has put its best efforts to showcase language, culture, tradition of Limboo community and also trying to promote beautiful tourism interest places of Sikkim.
The most of shooting took place in West Sikkim and the film has almost all artists from Sikkim except of few from Nepal. The total budget of the film was around 36 lakhs.
“We have put our best efforts to make a good feature film by putting all required essence. So we are very positive and hopeful that the people would love the film,” Mr Tamling said. He also shared plans to organize charity shows at Kathmandu, United Kingdom, Hong Kong other countries in near future.
Likewise, lead actress from Sikkim, Dibya Limboo expressed her happiness on her debut in the feature film. She stated that the whole journey was a learning experience under the guidance of experts and senior artists. “It was a learning experience to work in the film and it has also boosted my confidence and morale which would help me to work better in upcoming projects,” she said.
