The constituency-level party office of the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front party for Upper Tadong constituency was inaugurated by vice-president and chairman of the election monitoring and campaign committee of SDF party, Menlom Lepcha at the residence of SDF general secretary, Bharat Basnet here Daragaon on Thursday. The inauguration function was followed by a meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Upper Tadong MLA Timothy William Basnet stated that Upper Tadong has witnessed lots of developmental activities in the SDF government. He stated that many other plans and projects for the further development of the constituency have been submitted to the government.
SDF general secretary, Kiran Chettri stated that alliance of opposition parties would not make any difference but it was just an effort of oppositions in fear of the stronghold of the ruling party. Likewise, former councillor of the area, Bhaskar Basnet has criticises the act of opposition parties of obstructing developmental works and Janta Mela of SDF government.
In his address, Menlom Lepcha stated that Sikkim has become the most developed, peaceful and secure State of the country in 25 years of SDF government led by the visionary Chief Minister Pawan Chamling. He informed to start the public interaction and meetings of the ruling party in all wards of Upper Tadong constituency from 27 January onwards. He also lashes out on opposition parties for spreading misinformation on the One Family One Job scheme of the SDF government.
Mr Lepcha stated that opposition should be happy on the initiative of the government in providing government jobs to youths of Sikkim. He added that peace, security and development in Sikkim have created lots of opportunities for local youths to be self-reliant. He added that SDF government has given justice to every section of the people in Sikkim. On the same, he expressed his believe that the people would continuously give their support to the ruling party by seeing its works even in the upcoming election
