Sikkim Govt safeguarded rights of every communities: Guv

The Sikkim Bihari Jagran Manch (SBJM) held their Oath Taking cum felicitation ceremony-, Aarohanam,” marking 25 years of the body, today at Chintan Bhawan.

Gangtok, Jan 24 (IPR) 
 The Sikkim Bihari Jagran Manch (SBJM) held their Oath Taking cum felicitation ceremony-, “Aarohanam,” marking 25 years of the body, today at Chintan Bhawan. The Governor of Sikkim Shri Ganga Prasad was the Chief Guest on the occasion and the Minister for Forests, Environment & Wildlife Management Department, T.W Lepcha and M.L.A- Central Pendam, Gopal Baraily were the Guests of Honour.
 

The Governor, in his address expressed his happiness and said that he was pleased with the functioning of the SBJM. He congratulated the elected members and reminded the people that unity was the key factor in moving towards progress and development.  He also asked the people to be responsible and maintain the peace, security and the sanctity of the State.  He highlighted the achievements made by the State, particularly in the Organic sector and praised the people for making Sikkim a leading example in the country and globally as well. He said that it was the responsibility of the Government to safeguard the rights of every community and that Sikkim has been doing so, efficiently.
 
Minister T.W Lepcha spoke on the development and special provisions made for the business community by the State Government. He congratulated the body and the executive members and asked them to take their roles sincerely and seriously. He said that all communities should strengthen their brotherhood and wore together.
 
Gopal Baraily spoke succinctly on the community development of the SBJM and praised them for the commendable work done by them and stressed on communal integrity.
 
SBJM President, Swaminath Prasad expressed his gratitude to the State Government and said that the business community would remain grateful to the Chief Minister and his Government for the safety, security and for the rights and facilities of the community.

General Secretary, Birendra Prasad placed the grievances and requests of the community and said that he was hopeful that the demands would be met.

Municipal Corporation as well as Police Department were felicitated for their contribution.
