An injury time goal helped Sikkim Police to edge past State Sports Academy by a solitary goal in the ongoing Premier Division Sikkim-League 2019 here at Paljor Stadium on Sunday. The winning goal for Sikkim Police was scored by Sangay Bhutia in the injury time of the match to secure the full three points for the team.
The match offered some good opportunities to both teams to take the lead in the match but could not able to score any goal. The match was almost ended goalless draw until Sangay Bhutia scored a crucial winning goal for Sikkim Police in the 93rd minute of the match.
After playing two consecutive draw matches, Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club has registered its first victory in the ongoing premier division league. Four goals by Eugene helped Sikkim Himalayan SC to humble Boys Club, Gangtok by 5-1.
Being a very crucial match, Sikkim Himalayan SC played an attacking game from the start and Zangpo Bhutia scored an early lead for the team. However, Sikkim Himalayan SC could not able to maintain the lead when Amrit Dahal scored the equaliser for Boys Club in the 17th minute. When both teams were playing neck-to-neck to take further lead in the match, Eugene scored the second goal for Sikkim Himalayan SC in the 33rd minute and further extended the lead of the team with his brace in the 45th minute.
Sikkim Himalayan SC continued with their attacking game again in the second half. Eugene scored his hattrick goal to take the lead of the team to 4-1 in the 63rd minute and further extended the lead to 5-1 in the 67th minute. Boys Club players played their hearts out to bounce back into the match but could not able to net any further goal in the match.
Finally with the final whistle by the referee, Sikkim Himalayan SC secured the full three points from its first 5-0 victory in the league.
