Twenty-five participants have shown their strength in the 1st Open Arm-Wrestling Senior & Master Men & Women Championship 2019 held at Nampong in East Sikkim on Sunday. The day-long event was organised by Nampong Homestay, which had former MP, PT Gyamtso as the chief guest.
In above 55 Kg category, Sherap Loshar Bhutia stood as the chapion, while Ongdup Chewang Lepcha and Karma Ongyal Lepcha stood on the second and third position. In 64 kg, Jigmee Dorjee Bhutia stood on the first position by leaving Sonam Chogyal Lepcha and Sonam Wangdi Bhutia on the second and third position. Similarly, Kunsol Bhutia became the champion in 64 kg and Hishey Gyatso Bhutia and Tshering Pintso Lepcha stood on the second and third positive respectively.
In 72 kg, Tensung Gyatso Bhutia, Rinzing Tsewang Bhutia and Suren Rai stood on the first, second and third position respectively, while Ongdi Pintso Bhutia and Sangay Bhutia stood on the first and second positions respectively in 78 kg.
Kinga Tashi Lepcha became the champion in 85 kg, while in 65 kg Khamboo Bhutia and Nima Bhutia stood on the first and second positions respectively. Homnath Siwakoti stood first in 75 kg by leaving Pem Chatan Lepcha on the second position. In Master above 50 years category, Wangchuk Dorjee Lepcha and Loday Lepcha stood on the first and second positions respectively.
