The third convention of North Eastern States Government Driver’s Forum [NESGDF] will be held on 20 January here at Chintan Bhawan. The convention is being jointly organised by All Sikkim Government Drivers’ Association [ASGDA] and SNT Drivers’ and Conductors’ Association for the first time in the State. More than 100 delegates and participants from different North Eastern States and New Delhi are coming for the convention.
Addressing a press conference here today, ASGDA general secretary Gautam Tamang informed that Sikkim was hosting the NESGDF convention for the first time in the State. He informed that the NESGDF was formed on 28 August in 2016 for the welfare and better coordination between government drivers of north eastern States and having its headquater at Guwahati. The first convention of the forum was hosted by Arunachal Pradesh in year 2017 and then by held in Manipur last year.
Mr Tamang stated that the main objective of this annual convention was to build up a good relationship and better coordination between government drivers of north eastern states. He added that the convention was to discuss various issues and grievances facing by government drivers of the region and to take out the collective solution and was also deliberate on the future programme for the betterment and welfare of drivers.
The convention has the Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia as the chief guest and Chujachen Area MLA Bikram Pradhan as the guest of honour. Likewise, president Milan Raj Banshi and secretary general Narendra Singh of All India Government Driver’s Forum along with the president and general secretary of NESGDF are also coming for the convention.
