Chief Minister today distributed tokens to the beneficiaries of 3 constituencies –Lachen Mangan, Kabi -Lungchuk and Dzongu under North District as a part of ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyan'(Janta Mela) at Mangan public ground.
Addressing the function, the chief minister stated that 99% of the villages in Sikkim have now linked with road connectivity and now the government will go for its upgradation and the strengthening process. I am very much aware of the need for the old age people, youth and the students, he added. He also announced the annual grant of kits allowance to Rs.5000/- for monks and other traditional healers.
He also informed that SKM party is a party which has formed by the convicted people and mostly from outsiders and further alert the people not to get misled by such people.
The CM further stated that incase if any beneficiary’s name has been left out from they should not get dishearten as their name will include in next list. He also said that we have protected the North Sikkim and Dzongu and also said that we will give ticket to original Lepcha of Dzongu. He further appealed the people to make the victory of SDF party’ to save Sikkim and Sikkimese people and not to form groups in the constituency.
The State Government is always committed towards providing better facilities and welfare schemes to the people. Through such initiatives, we have been able to fulfill the basic minimum needs of our people Chamling added.
He informed the gathering that over the 24 years of our governance, the State Government has been providing qualitative health care services, free education from pre-primary to college level, road connectivity to link all villages and free electricity in rural areas. These facilities were unheard of till we formed the Government.
He urged the youth of the district to avail the Start-up scheme, where the Government is providing loans upto to 20 lakhs and with 35% subsidy. They should be able to venture into sectors like tourism and organic agriculture, which are lucrative modern day professions. As Sikkim has earned the brand name of being fully organic, he also suggested to them to establish agro-based industries and cash on our status of being the only and the first organic state.
The CM also launched the website of North District Administration. The Zilla members of Dzongu felicitated the Chief Minister in today’s function.
