Premier Division Sikkim-League 2019 was kicked off here at Paljor Stadium on Saturday. Kumar Sporting Football Club has outplayed the defending champion, United Sikkim Football Club 2-0 in its debut match in the Premier Division Sikkim-League to secure full three points from its first victory.
In a well contested match, both teams made constant pressure on each other with an attacking game from the start. With the help of Sanjit Subba’s goal in the 27th minute, Kumar Sporting FC finished the first half with 1-0 lead. Within two minutes in the second half, Titus Sewa extended the lead of Kumar Sporting to 2-0. United Sikkim FC players put their best efforts but could not able to score any goal in the match.
Likewise, Sikkim Aakraman Football Club has launched a strong campaign today in this season of the premier division league. In its first match in the league, Sikkim Aakraman FC has humbled Unicorn Football Club 5-0 to get full three points. Dewasish George Rai has contributed four goals in the victory of Sikkim Aakraman FC, while one more goal was added by his teammate, Dawa Sherpa.
Eight teams have been participating in this top tier football league of the State, which is being organized by Sikkim Football Association. Other participating teams are Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club, State Sports Academy, Boys Club and Sikkim Police.
Sikkim Himalayan SC will take on the State Sports Academy in its first match on Sunday noon, which will followed by another match between Boys Club and Sikkim Police.
