Girish and The Chronicles [GATC] is featuring the most renowned and award winning guitarist, Baiju Dharmajan from Kerala in the upcoming Sikkim Red Panda Winter Carnival. Both GATC and Baiju Dharmajan will share the stage on 17 January in the winter carnival at MG Marg.
A press release informed that with his unique Carnatic style of guitaring, having achieved various accolades over the years, Baiju was also the founding member of his renowned former band Motherjane. Baiju will be conducting a special interactive workshop/performance at Gangtok Groove on 18 January with Girish Pradhan featuring the special guest on vocals. Their rendition of “Sweet Indian Child of Mine” was featured in classic rock magazine as one of the main posts on the day of its release and has more than half a million views on YouTube, it is informed.
TesseracT is an internationally Renowned North American progressive Metal Band and GATC is going to share the stage on 20 January in Bangalore. GATC will be the part of Red Panda Winter Carnival as a Headlining Band and GATC has appealed all rockers to be present on 17 January at MG Marg.
The release informed that GATC’s entry into the new year was with their grand ending of 2018 with their North East India tour in December, where they performed in various venues in Jowai (Meghalaya), Tamenglong (Manipur), Nongkhnum (Meghalaya), Guwahati (Assam), Aizawl (Mizoram), along with Gangtok.
GATC kicked off their new year, with the release of the music video of their single “Rock the Highway”. The song, which is dedicated to all the bikers, riders and rockers of the world, is an upbeat 80s style hard rock/glam rock song. The song has had a good response so far, with one of the world’s top UK based Rock magazine, Classic Rock magazine, featuring the song in their Week’s top tracks, along with tracks by artists like Paul McCartney. GATC has been already been featured by Classic Rock magazine for their rendition of 18 and life (Skid Row) and Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin). Girish’s collaboration with the guitar Maestro Baiju Dharmajan, for their Carnatic version of Sweet Child o mine also featured by the magazine, it is informed.
The song “Rock the Highway” was also featured by Sleaze Roxx, a US based Rock magazine. This was followed by Harley Rider’s meet gig, held in Kochi, Kerala. The band will also be performing at different venues in Thailand, in the month of February. Alongside all the gigging, the band is also producing their upcoming album, set to release soon, and followed by an album promo tour in March.
