A State level AROGYA Fair which is being held at Garib Utthan Bhawan in Jorethang attracted many health enthusiasts and public.
The fair aimed at creating awareness among the public about the efficiency of the AYUSH systems, their cost-effectiveness and the availability of herbs and plants used for prevention and treatment of common ailments so as to achieve the objective of good health for all.
This year the AYUSH fair included display of sales of medicines, herbal products and study materials along with free health check up and consultation from the doctor. Additionally, the fair also has demonstration on yoga and counselling by experts on Unani, Siddha, Ayurveda and homeopathic and on many more relevant sections of AYUSH.
The fair is being organized by the Ministry of Ayush in coordination with the Healthcare, Human Services and Family Welfare Department in association with Jorethang Maghey Sankranti Mela, 2019 is being held at Garib Utthan Bhawan in Jorethang. This fair was inaugurated by SLA Speaker K.N. Rai on the first day of Maghey Sankranti.
Similarly, the Jorethang Maghey Sankranti Mela, 2019 also included free of cost health check up under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Annual and Total Check-up for Healthy Sikkim (CATCH) program at Garib Utthan Bhawan, Jorethang.
The aim of this CATCH program is to provide quality healthcare to the general masses. The doctors, technicians and staff from Namchi District Hospital and Jorethang Community Health centre have gathered to serve the public. After, the necessary screenings and check ups, the patients detected with high blood pressure and diabetes have been provided with free medicines. Additionally, during the screening, health cards have also been issued to the patients.
