New BJP MLAs of Sikkim was officially welcomed by the state unit today at party headquarters in Singtam.
All 10 MLAs were present in the program along with state BJP leaders.
While at the program, State BJP President DB Chauhan welcomed the MLAs and stated that now the MLAs can work freely under the leadership of PM Modi and his policies.
Senior leader and MLA DT Lepcha, stated to media that the regional parties have rampant corruption and they have joined a national party due to the anti-corruption plank of the BJP.
Another MLA, DR Thapa has stated that they did not wanted to waste their tenure hence they have joined a national party.
The newly joined BJP members also blasted the SKM government and said panchayats should be allowed to work freely and the new government must take state to greater heights of what was achieved in 25 years long SDF government.
Further they have stated that Article 371(f) will be more protected if one joins a national party.
The MLAs have collectively criticized constituency Incharge appointment by SKM party and have questioned its legal validity. “Now we will show true change,” said another MLA Rajkumari Thapa.
