The government will soon release the notification for the vacancies of nurses and police announced Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today.

The government will soon release the notification for the vacancies of nurses and police announced Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today. CM was speaking at the Platinum Jubilee celebration of Government Senior Secondary School, (GSSS) at Kewzing today.

CM further reiterated about the Rojzar Mela which will be held on the first week of January in Gangtok wherein jobs will be given to youths under the scheme one family, one job. He also added that release soon. In, the first phase jobs will be provided to at-least 20 thousand candidates and in the second phase of this scheme the remaining candidate will receive jobs from the State Government.

Chief Minister extended his congratulations to the former and the present students and staff of Kewzing Senior Secondary School on reaching the commendable platinum jubilee fete. He also highlighted the eventful journey of this school from its inception to the present status and how this school has achieved holistic success which has not just been confined to bookish knowledge. The CM also applauded the various initiative undertaken by the school such as effective waste management, ban on the use of plastic, engaging the students and teachers in Organic Farming, which in turn has transformed this school into an exemplary one which should be emulated by other schools present in the state.

Regarding, the educational scenario of the State the Chief Minister informed that the State Government is spending at least 20% of the budget on upgradation of education. He updated that on 15th January the foundation stone for the Medical College will be laid,wherein education will be free for students of Sikkim which will in turn bring Sikkim at the forefront with regards to medical education. He also notified that it is crucial for the Sikkimese students to get education till college level as education till college level in Sikkim is free. The CM also spoke in brief about the various schemes and scholarship opportunities conceptualized by the State Government for the benefit of the students and advocated the students to reap the full advantage out of these schemes. The CM emphasized especially to the students to avail the coaching facilities for UPSC, banking, aeronautics and other civil services provided by the State Government. He also added that currently Sikkim has 96.72 literacy rate which is one of the highest in the country.

Addressing the students CM encouraged them to change their thoughts which can change their life. He enunciated that the students should shift their focus with the requirement of the 21st century and for the same teachers need to play an extremely significant role. He also emphasized the rise of Artificial Intelligence and underlined how advanced technology will play a crucial function in directing the fate of the world. With regards to this he encouraged the students to take up training in such kind of progressive technology which are relevant in the future. He also brought to light that students should aim to understand the in-depth objective of education and that education should be all-inclusive. The students should also enforce the attribute of critical thinking as it increases the thinking ability and assist in selection of precise information.

The CM also shared the dates of the ensuing Janta Mela starting from 16th January at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok and shared details that laptops will be distributed to students and Self Help Group, and other equipments namely that of GCI Sheet, Gas Cylinders, Torch Light, Blankets, Catering Sets, Pressure Cookers, Xerox Machine, and many more. He also added that scholarship for students will also be distributed during the mela and appraised that HRDD Department will be selecting the beneficiaries.

The CM also vocalized how Sikkim in due time has become renowned as an environment friendly state. He also brought to light that the tourism sector in Sikkim is flourishing thereby enriching the lives of the Sikkimese citizens. He said that the progressive farmers of the State should aim to be producers rather than consumers and they should create enough amount of organic produce that can meet the increasing demands of the world.

The CM also announced that science and commerce stream in the Kewzing Senior Secondary School will commence from next year onwards. He also sanctioned additional 12 rooms for the smooth functioning of the school. Additionally, the Chief Minister also agreed to rename the school on behalf of the memory of the various land donors after prior confirmation.

Speaking, during the occasion Minister D.D. Bhutia touched upon the brief history of the school and spoke about the importance of education that this school has provided to the students of the locality. He also urged the public of the locality to work in coordination in order to upgrade the school. Moreover, he emphasized that the school should consistently strive to lead in all the student centrict competitive fields conducted at state and national level.

The CM also felicitated the Ex-students and teachers of the school alongwith the meritorious students Master Sunil Chettri and Master Karma Wangchuk Bhutia who achieved cent percent in class X CBSE and the latter got selected in under 16 BCCI team, respectively.

The school also felicitated the Chief Minister for bringing about great honour and prestige in terms of Organic Farming and education at domestic and global level.

During the course of the program Principal GSSS Mr. M. L. Koirala also detailed the school report in which he informed about the establishment of the school and other features that the school has adopted till date.

The Also present were SLA Speaker K.N.Rai, Minister Energy and Power Department cum Area MLA D.D.Bhutia alongside Principal GSSS M. L. Koirala, Adhakshyas, teachers, School Management Committee (SMC), Panchayats, students and public alike.

At the onset the Chief Minister inaugurated the statue of the great Lama, Gyalwa Ngadak Sempa Chenpo Phuntshog Rinzing who is credited in creating the holy spring water in Kewzing.
