SKM’s Parivartan is to Threaten, Kill and Loot, people should discard such party: Chamling

The ten days Tamu Lochar celebration, New Year festival of Gurung community concluded today here at Begha under Maneybung Dentam constituency.
The final day of the event had the presence of chief minister Pawan Chamling as chief guest. Ministers and MLAs of state cabinet were also present in the event along with dignitaries and people from Gurung community.
Chief minister in his address extending greeting the Gurung community on the occasion of Tamu Lochar informed about developmental works initiated by the state government for the welfare and development of different ethnic communities of Sikkim, chief minister claimed that cultures, traditions and language of all the communities in the state has been given recognition by the state government. He shared that in the year 1995 Gurung language was recognized as the state language and Tamu Lochar festival was declared as gazette government holiday. In order to preserve and protect the cultural heritage of Gurung community monastery. We have given recognition to languages, culture and customs of all Sikkimese community’, he said.
Speaking about Parivartan (Change) call of opposition parties, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling stated that it is Janta who bring the political Parivartan and the Parivartan should be for good and it should be pro Sikkim and in favour of peace and prosperities of Sikkim.
He maintained that call of Parivartan advocated by SDF party in the 90s was genuine and that was the reason why the party was voted to power by Sikkimese people.
He added that the state government under SDF has brought positive changes in the state in terms development, peace, progress and prosperities since 24 years of forming the government.
Claiming that some party workers in SDF party are working to fulfill their own personal interests, chief minister said that politics should be done for the welfare and progress of the people but not for fulfilling own personal aspirations. He alleged that opposition parties are into the politics just for fulfilling their own aspirations.
“The political party which is calling for Parivartan, in a public meeting alleges that the government employees are corrupted and thieves and they should pay money to their party secretly. It is sad to see the government employees being threatened and maligned openly. The government employees should give a befitting reply to the opposition party and they must maintain their dignity “, he said.
Saying that Sikkim should not fall in the wrong hands, Chamling asked, “what type of government the people want? Do you want the government that could be the cause Sikkim’s debacle?’ He alleged that the opposition parties in Sikkim have support of elements from outside the state and they want to sell Sikkim and they will transform Sikkim into scrap.
He added that SDF party would be fighting this election for saving Sikkim from negative elements bent on disrupting the peace, tranquility and progress of Sikkim. “The upcoming election is all about saving Sikkim by forming the government of SDF party and the people must be with SDF for sake of peace and prosperity of Sikkim”, he said.
Citing the recent video clip of a political leader making derogatory speech in a public function which had gone viral in social media, Pawan Chamling said, “Nowhere in the history of the world that a political party or a leader was found announcing before the elections to kill, chop and loot people for ascending to power. Even a dictator such as Hitler had not given such a violent speech in the public programme. People should understand violent agenda of opposition party and they should be alert against them as they can resort to any means to reach to power”, he said
He appealed the NGOs, social organizations and people to come in protest against such remarks made by a leader of a political party. ‘People should lodged protest against such derogatory remarks’, he said.
Chief Minister maintained that the party has not decided yet about who will get ticket in the upcoming election from the party. “Even I do not know who will be the party candidates in the next year election but the party will definitely field candidates having good rapport among the people”, he said.
He directed the party functionaries to refrain from instigating groupism in the party and also to avoid intra party conflict.
Asserting that the party would decide the candidates in the upcoming election keeping in view the proportion of people in the different constituencies, chief minister reiterated that the party will however field five candidates from Limboo Tamang community in the election.
Chief Minister in his address also informed that Rojgar Mela would be held on 12th January at Palzor stadium of Gangtok and in the first phase 20,000 unemployed people would be provided appointment order in ad- hoc basis. The jobs would be regularized after five years’ he said. Claiming that it is for the first time in the world Rojgar Mela is being held for the people, Pawan Chamling said that objective of Mela is to provide job to the jobless families of Sikkim so that economic stability of each and every Sikkimese could be ensured.
Informing about upcoming Janta Mela chief minister asserted that all the demands placed by the people would be fulfilled by the state government.
Earlier in the morning Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building of Dentam Community health center.

2.Upgradation of Banpala Sheep Farm at Begha.
3. Establishment of Animal Husbandry College on the 35 acres of land of Department of Animal Husbandry available at Sheep Farm, Begha.
4. Construction of Sherpa Bhawan
5.Construction of eco-footpath to Barsey.
6.Nethang ‘Gufa’( cave) will be made a pilgrimage centre.
