Cheli Morcha of Sikkim Democratic Front party has expressed its gratitude to the State government and to SDF President, the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for the declaration of the State holiday on the festival of Teez. On behalf of the entre women community of Sikkim, Cheli Morcha has thanked the CM for his historic and women-centric initiative.
A press release of SDF vice-president [Cheli Morcha], Manita Mangar stated that SDF government has been working on its inclusive and equality policies and principles for the collective interest and welfare of the people of Sikkim since its inception. The release added that by working on its policies and principles, SDF government has taken many historic initiatives for the conservation and protection of various culture and systems of the State and has provided protection to entire communities and religions of the State. It is added that unprecedented works have been done for the conservation of culture and tradition due to tireless works of the government.
The release added that Teez was among the important festivals of the State celebrating in Sikkim. The release added that women of Hindu community of Sikkim have also been celebrating this holy festival of Teez in a grand manner.
The release stated that woman was an example of sacrifice, tolerance and dedication and has been celebrating this festival by fully dedicated to their husbands and life partners. The release asserted that the declaration of the State holiday by the State government on Teez festival in recognition of integrity and holy believe of women was another historic initiative. The ruling party added that the historic and women-centric announcement of the government has further inspired believe of Sikkimese women. The release added that it was the dignified respect to women of Sikkim.
