A meeting of the constituency-level monitoring and campaign committee of the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front party for Upper Tadong constituency was held at the residence of former councillor Uday Lama here at Pani House on Thursday. The meeting was attended by the chairman of the committee, Menlom Lepcha, councillor Mingma Lhamu and other leaders and workers of the party.
In his address, Mr Lepcha stated that Sikkim has witnessed the unprecedented infrastructures and economic developments due to visionary and successful leadership of the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling. He mentioned that the daily wages of workers of Sikkim was only Rs 60 which has been enhanced to Rs 300 at present. He added that the State has been witnessing the continuous development in tourism, agriculture, horticulture and other sectors due to peace and security in Sikkim.
Mr Lepcha mentioned about the various unique programmes and initiatives of SDF government for the overall development of Sikkim. He also speaks about various initiatives of the State government for the capacity building of youths of Sikkim in different sectors. He urged the people to support SDF party to continue the development series of the State.
Councillor Mingma Lhamu mentioned about the successful implementation of One Family, One Job scheme of the State government in the area and the process to collect names of left out candidates was going on.
The meeting, which was conducted by former panchayat, Sudan Tamang, was concluded with vote of thanks by youth convener, Sarad Lama. The meeting was also attended by general secretary Kiran Chettri, former councillorUday Lama and secretary, AnandGazmer along with youths and cheli of the ruling party.
