New book ‘Biteka Kuraharu’ of a young promising Sikkimese litterateur, Arjun Chamling ‘Yawa’ was released here at Nepali Sahitya Parishad Bhawan on Thursday. The function, which was chaired by Chunnilal Ghimirey, has Nepali Sahitya Parishad president, Rudra Poudyal as the chief guest. The book release function has also witnessed songs, ghazal and poem recitations in Nepali, Bodo and Assamese. The book release function was organised by Abhiyan Sahitya Samiti, Ranka.
This is the fifth book of the writer, who entered into the field of Nepali literature by publishing his first book in 2005. In his book review, poet Sher Bahadur Karki has stated that the book revolves around Ranka and its people. The book having the subtitle of ‘Ama Pappa Ra Ranka Ko Serofero’ has interesting historical facts related to Ranka, Ranka School and contributions made by senior citizens and panchayats of Ranka in the field of education and other sectors.
The chief guest has appreciated the continuation of the writer in the writing and contribution towards Nepali literature. Likewise, in his presidential address, Mr Ghimirey appreciated the efforts of the writer in documenting the history and other facts related to parents, people and village of Ranka.
