New feature film ‘Appa’ written and directed by Anmol Gurung which was released in Gangtok on Friday is getting positive response from the Sikkimese audience. The movie is the first film from Kalimpong and features the celebrated Nepali actor Dayahang Rai along with debutants Siddhant Tamang and Alona Kabo Lepcha from Kalimpong.
Actor Dayahang Rai also came to the Gangtok premiere of the movie at Denzong cinema and greeted fans.
This is his first ever motion picture in India amd stated that its gladdening to see a budding Nepali film goers in India particularly in Sikkim, North East, Darjeeling and Uttarakhand.
The movie has garnered a wide release across Nepal and India even in non traditional markets.
‘Appa’ has opened to rave reviews in Nepal and has been dubbed as a family movie that can be enjoyed by all ages.
Nepali star Dayahang Rai greeted a sea of fans at the venue of movie screening.
Noted Director Tulsi Ghimeray also features in a special role which has a human story of a father and a son.
While talking about working in a motion picture from India he stated that it was a good experience to work in a talented fresh team.
The movie is being met with rousing response across Sikkim, Dooars, Darjeeling and Kalimpong.
