Sikkum Siyong Sepsing Yuma Maang, a spiritual guru of Darap in west Sikkim today attended a spiritual programme at Teyongsi Sreejunga’s stautue premises of Hee – Kyonbari near Hee bazar. The spiritual event was jointly managed by Yuma Mang Mediation Centre Committee (YMMCC) and the local NGOs of Hee – Kyongbari. Event was attended by massive numbers of followers of of Yuma Mang.
In her spiritual discourse, Yuma Mang called upon gatherings to lead a simple and pious and meaningful living devoid of violence, worldly greed and enmity. Saying that religious spiritualism helps to keep vices of materialistic world at bay, she spoke about need of spiritualism for establishment of moral and civilized society. She expressed that as every religion the Yumaism also advocates preservation of humanity in the world through spiritual and moral activities. Yuma Mang further stated that unwanted greed,negativity and quests for worldly pleasures are source of unhappiness and sorrow amongst human beings and giving up such vices make the living meaningful and sacred. She advised the devotees to lead a life of simplicity and sacredness while remaining faithful towards the god. She stated that for a healthy and peaceful life the people should give up on certain habits like alcoholism,substance addictions and excess greed for worldly pleasures. “We should love every creations of god and service you provide to fallen, downthroden, weak and needy is service towards the god. Love and kindness can restore humanity in the world. Various religions followed by the people are different means to serve one god who is kind and omnipotent. Religious intolerance, hatred and violence in the name of any religion should not be encouraged ”, She said.
Advocating for abolition of animal sacrifices done in the name of any religion, Yuma Mang expressed that pleasing the god by spilling blood of innocent animals must not be practiced and encouraged. She said that there are other simple and sinless ways to serve the god. Deliberating on existence of the heaven and the hell, she said that only pious, holy, righteous and sinless deserve heaven.
Yuma Mang expressed that with the rapid moderniztion of the world and diminishing moral values among human beings religious and spiritual awareness have become a need for creation of a pious and moral society.
Terming the parents as the most valuable persons in the life of the people Yuma Mang expressed that it is not good to admit parents at old age homes when they become feeble and unable to fend for themselves. “It is immoral to discard the parents at ripen age because they have given you everything as a father and a mother. Such culture should not be encouraged in our society’, she said.
President of YMMCC Ten Hang Limboo informed that spiritual programme was organized to promote religious spiritualism among the people and also to aware them about need of spiritualism to keep the world free of vices and sins.
Chief coordinator of the event Bishal Limboo expressed his gratitude to the participants and NGOs of Hee – Kyongbari for their active particiapations in the programme.
