The former SDF minister and present Bharatiya Janta Party’s (BJP) MLA N.K Subba has stated that BJP would form the government in Sikkim anyhow in 2024 and the party will work actively in the state to ensure formation of its government in 2024. “BJP will be in power for more than 20 years and we will form BJP’s government in Sikkim at any cost in 2024. The party will work actively to bring BJP in power”, he said.
N.K Subba was speaking at the BJP’s membership drive event organized today here at party office of Geyzing.
Subba further claimed that the ruling front SKM has agreed for allied government with BJP and the political secretary of chief minister P.S Golay, Jacob Khaling and general secretary of SKM party Navraj Gurung have given statements regarding SKM – BJP alliance. However he maintained that SKM should give official announcement on the matter. They have agreed for SKM – BJP coalition government in the state but the official announcement is yet to made by SKM, he said.
N.K Subba reiterated that 10 SDF MLAs have joined the national party to work for greater welfare of the Sikkimese people through the national political platform adding that they have joined BJP to work in free and fair way for the people of their respective constituencies.
Attacking SKM party, N.K Subba accused that SKM party after forming the government in the state has been involved in politics of victimizations and vendetta and under SKM only government has changed but not the ideologies and thought. “SKM government has resorted to politics of despising and frightening the people in various forms, be it victimizations, transfers of the government employees, threatening the OFOJ employees. We joined BJP as we are here to safeguard the rights of the people and serve them as their elected representative. We cannot see and allow injustice being happened to our people”, Subba said.
He expressed that 10 SDF MLAs shift to BJP has scared SKM and politics of threat, vengeance and victimization has decreased a bit.
He maintained that state’s BJP would work to protect the Sikkimese interests and greater development of Sikkim. He added that the party would intensify membership drive across the state.
He informed that BJP MLAs from Sikkim have apprised the central government on Limboo – Tamang seat reservation issue, tribal status to 11 left out communities of Sikkim, protection of 371 F and Darjeeling – Sikkim merger issue adding that the central government has given a positive response on all the issues concerned to Sikkim.
More than 30 families from Geyzing – Bermiok, Yangthang and Yuksam – Tashiding constituencies joined BJP today. N.K Subba inducted them into the party.
