Dzongu, Jan 8
The relocation of Mantam Bridge at 4th Mile, Mantam in Upper Dzongu is now ready for vehicular movement. The bridge which had constructed at the left bank of the Teesta River was submerged by the swollen river during the last monsoon which had restricted the vehicles movement towards the villages facing other side.
The submersion of the bridge had affected the people residing at Sakyong-Pentong and Tingvong GPUs under Upper Dzongu constituency to ferry their day-to-day needs of essential commodities and materials of other basic needs.
In the meantime, the Sub Divisional Office of Dzongu has urged all vehicle drivers to ply their vehicles cautiously on the bridge for the safety reasons.
In response, the local public has extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Roads & Bridges Department, North for their prompt service in the interest of the public of Upper.Dzongu.
