Contractual employees of National Health Mission, Sikkim State AIDS Control Society and Ayush of Sikkim has unanimously decide to continue their pen-down strike until they would not get the regularisation order in their hands. Contractual employees of National Health Mission, Sikkim State AIDS Control Society and Ayush from across the State are on pen-down strike since 01 February on a single-point demand of regularisation and have presently been giving dharna everyday at the State Secretariat.
Speaking to media persons, a representative of contractual employees mentioned that in the collective decision of all the ongoing peaceful pen-down strike will be continued at Secretariat until they will not get the order in hands. He added that this decision was also apprised to the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Health Department in a meeting today.
He stated that the department has verbally assured to regularise all employees having the service of five years and above but has not given any written assurance so far. He added that as per the department the notification will come out on 15 February and the memorandum on 22 February and then after order will be handed over. On the same, he asserted that the department should hand over the order on 15 February itself as there will many other processes to be completed.
He mentioned that another demand to the department to make an entry level point for employees having the service of below five years. “We are still going on this issue and until this demand would not be fulfilled our pen-down strike will be continued,” he said.
