Special Summary revision of Electoral rolls, 2019 the final electoral rolls is being published and being circulated at all the Polling stations in South district. The DEO has appealed the general public and all the voters of South Districts in particular to check their names in the final electoral rolls available in Polling stations in South district.
In order to ensure that names of all the eligible voters including those who have applied for enrollment of their names during the last summary revision are not inadvertently missed out during the printing of the final rolls, the office of the District Election Officer/ District Collector, in compliance of the directives issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim, has initiated a door to door visit of the household from 15th February, 2019 engaging the BLOs who would be assisted by the village level Aganwadi workers and ASHA with a copy of the final electoral rolls to facilitate each household to see if the names of their family members have been inadvertently missed out in the final roll. They shall carry with them adequate numbers of forms 6, and also forms 7, 8 and 8a so that in case their names have been missed out, the relevant forms can be filled up immediately for re-enrollment of their names during continuous up-dation of the rolls.
This house to house campaign has been initiated with the sole objectives to ensure that no eligible voters are left out in the electoral rolls for their participation in the election process during the up-coming General election, 2019.
The District Election Officer, South District therefore, requests all the Political parties to actively participate in this door to door campaign in updating/verifying the rolls by actively engaging their Booth Level Agents (BLA) so that the objective of the campaign is achieved.
