The U-23 Women’s team of Sikkim today thrashed Mizoram by 9 wickets at “Women’s Under 23 T20 Trophy 2019-20” being held at Pondicherry.
Today Sikkim Team were playing their second match of the tournament against Mizoram at Siechem Stadium, Pondicherry.
So far they have played two matches out of seven to be played in this tournament. They will be playing against Maharashtra, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Pondicherry, Mumbai and Tamil Nadu throughout this tournament in Group E.
Mizoram won the toss and choose to bat first and scored 118 runs losing 2 wickets in 20 overs at a run rate of 5.90. Sandhya Kumari scored the innings highest of 87 runs off 72 balls followed by Lal Rin Fela (11) and K Dinpuii (7) for Mizoram. Sikkim’s bowler Aruna Barman and Rinky Rajak took 1 wicket each. In the second inning Sikkim scored 119 runs losing 1 wicket in 17.1 overs and won the match by 9 wickets. Rinky Rajak scored 45 runs (not-out), Sarojini Giri 28 runs (not-out) and Nandika Kumari 4 runs for Sikkim. With this win Sikkim earned 2 point(s).
The next match will be played against Rajasthan on 15th November at CAP Ground 2, Pondicherry.
