A five days Residential Refresher Training for Paravets/ Field Functionaries on ” Clinical Treatment and Recently Reported Disease in Sikkim” was held at a training centre, Sokeythang, Gangtok on Friday.
Dr. N.T.Bhutia Principal Director of Animal Husbandary & Veterinary Department was the chief guest along with Dr.D.K.Pradhan Director of AH&VD as a guest of honour, respected Directors in charge, twenty members of trainees paravets/ field Functionaries, officials and staff of AH& VD were present.
Dr. N.T Bhutia acknowledged the role of the veterinarian in the future perspective for prevention and control of the reported diseases in the State. He shared his views in exploring the potential of native breeds, the need for future surveillance and monitoring associated with the economic aspect of disease control.
He said that the five-day-long training session was fruitful which helped all the concerned Veterinary to keep them updated with knowledge and latest technique involved. He suggested that the centre surroundings should be appeasing and also took note of the feedback from the trainees.
Dr. D.K Pradhan delivered a speech where he urged all the emphasized trainees to follow professional ethics and moral values in the Veterinary profession to serve with competence and commitment.
Earlier there was a brief presentation by the trainees followed up by a distribution of certificates by the Chief Guest to all the first batch of trainees.
The programme was organised by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service under the National Livestock Mission (N.L.M.).
