Health minister Dr. M.K Sharma today inaugurated the newly established blood bank at district hospital, Geyzing. Minister was accompanied by agriculture minister Loknath Sharma and Power minister M.N Sharma. CMO (west) Dr. Tsheten Tashi Bhutia, officials from health department were also present at the blood bank inaugural event.
Health minister also inspected other medical units of the hospital, took note of availability medical facilities at the hospital and interacted with the patients of the hospital.
Dr. M.K Sharma expressed that establishment of blood bank was a necessary in the hospital claiming that the blood bank would be of great help for the people. He added that the blood bank would facilitate the patients’ needs and scarcity of blood at the hospital would get sorted out. Blaming the former SDF government of neglecting the health sector, M.K Sharma said that everything regarding the development of health sector must be given re – start from the ground zero claiming that proper management of the health sector was not done by the earstwhile government. On the scarcity of medicines in the hospital, M.K Sharma shared that the financial constraints along with other problems are the reasons why the hospital is facing dearth of medicines. However he maintained that the issues relatinng to medicines would be solved very soon.
Informing about state government’s plans to develop the district hospital, Geyzing, M.K Sharma informed that all the medical facilities along qualitative medical treatment would be made available at the hospital.
Sharma claimed that under SKM government health based services have improved in the state because of transparent and farsighted approach of the government on health sector.
Agriculture minister and area MLA Loknath Sharma expressed that the newly inaugurated blood bank would fulfill the requirements related to blood, adding that donation of blood is one of the noblest of act for saving life. He further added district hospital, Geyzing would see further development in near future under SKM government.
