Pawan Chamling is Janta’s favorite for all seasons, and for all the right reasons.
Sikkim has seen Chamling come into limelight as its Chief Minister over the past twenty four years. The party, the Sikkim Democratic Front, was born from a popular movement to oust the corrupt, exploitative and pro-elite Government in 1994. Sikkim Democratic Front party has every time formed government with a clear mandate to govern the State of Sikkim with its pro-people policy. It has proved that the policy intervention and the development process initiated by this Government have been fruitful.
SDF Government has given thrust on human development, eliminate poverty and promote inclusive and sustainable growth.
SDF Govt has always strive to increase and promote employment and income opportunities. Continued efforts have been made to improve quality education and skill development so as to empower the youth and women.
SDF have not rested in their past achievements and laurels but continue to strive hard and achieve the future goals at hand.
The law and order situation in the State is one of the best, due to which Sikkim is also one of the most peaceful States in the country. It is also India’s fast developing and most progressive State under SDF governance. Government of Sikkim has achieved landmark distinction and the atmosphere has been continued with outmost dedication. Due to low crime rate and the overall peace loving people in the State, the pendency of cases is the lowest in the country. Sikkim shares three International borders with China, Bhutan and Nepal and it has proved to the country that a border State can be most peaceful, which is our contribution to the process of nation building. SDF government pledged to build a better and secure future and to take Sikkim to greater heights.
SDF government has never compromised with the development of the State. It has been working tirelessly in this direction. Maintaining peace also tops SDF’s agenda. SDF’s efforts to make all villages in the State economically sustainable and also strengthen the panchayats by devolving to them more powers have been appreciated. At the other end, desperation is catching up on SKM party. Unwanted demands, disrespecting CM, misleading people and intrigue have been the hallmark of SKM party.
There was no effort to reach out to people or engage in a sensible debate. Forget debate, there was hardly anything positive coming out from their party workers, but for hatred and anti-Chamling slogans.
The so called opposition party that is filled with no hope and no rays of positivity has ridiculed the State by criticizing every pro people initiatives of SDF Government.
The list of SKM‘s hoopla is endless. They have indulged themselves in destructive politics rather than playing the part of constructive oppositions.
The opposition party should understand that being an opposition never means that they should keep protesting against everything the ruling party initiates in the favour people.
