Governor of Sikkim, Ganga Prasad felicitated Padmabhusan, Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, founder of Sulabh International for bringing the ambitious Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme to Sikkim. During day time, launched the WASH programme in Schools of Sikkim at Chintan Bhawan in presence of Minister for Education department, Kunga Nima Lepcha and Padmabhushan, Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak.
It is second initiative of Sulabh International in Sikkim’s schools following the success of installing sanitary napkin vending machines in 20 selected government schools across the State.
Governor said with the launch of WASH programme in all school of Sikkim will change the environment in schools of Sikkim and inculcate the habit of cleanliness, sanitation and water conservation involving young minds and further blending it into Sikkim’s unique culture.
Governor said that Dr. Pathak has done outstanding work to improve health and hygiene and moving the entire nation forward.
Governor wished Dr. Pathak for more success of such kind of people centric initiatives in the country.
