Many beautiful spots in the Himalayan state has often been ignored or remains unexplored.

In an effort to boost tourism and create new destination in Sikkim, a day long awareness cum interactive session was held in Yangang on Jan 22. 

This meeting was attended by Raj Basu(help tourism) who is a popular environmentalist and a pioneer in Rural Tourism. He is also an advisor of Tourism to Govt of Sikkim, Mr Basu enlightened the crowd on benefits of Tourism, and agreed to adopt and advice towards tourism development in South Sikkim.  

 Robin Basnet who’s actively involved in elevating tourism in Yangang and south Sikkim mentioned that several initiatives are taking place which will definitely help in elevating tourism in South Sikkim. 

Currently representative from BBC – London,  Ajoy Roy is working on a world class documentary which will help in promoting South Sikkim in the days to come.  

Next the team is heading to Temi and Turuk for Similar workshops.

The team has stated that there is immense tourism possibilities in the field of rural tourist Centers with culture as one of the main themes on which people of rural Sikkim can gain rich dividend.

Adopting to the lifestyle and culture of rural Sikkim showcasing the rich culture, nature, beauty and hospitality of the state has started to attract a record number of tourist not just from India and neighbouring countries but from across the world, they stated.
