A flash mob to create awareness on substance abuse was performed by students of Bojoghari Senior Secondary School here at infront of Star Hall, New Market on Monday evening. The event was organized by Social Justice & Welfare Department in association with Sikkim Against Addiction Towards Healthy India [SAATHI] team of Bojoghari SSS as a part of the State Action Plans for Drug Demand Reduction.
This flash mob was the last event in the series of activities conducted by Social Justice & Welfare Department under the State Action Plans for Drug Demand Reduction at different parts of the State.
There were three components in the state action plan, which includes awareness generation, capacity building and intervention and this flash mob was a part of awareness generation. The department conducted Children’s Parliament, football and other sporting competitions, musical and other activities to create mass awareness on the substance abuse. By seeing good response and involvements the department has decided to give continuity to these activities next year with more new concepts.
