Sikkim’s tableau on ‘Organic and Swachh Sikkim’ will be the leading the Republic Day tableaux parade 2019 in New Delhi on Jan 26.
Every year selected number of states participate in Republic Day celebration held in Raj Path, New Delhi. The states are selected after a rigorous selection process by the Expert Selection Committee. It is with great pride that Cultural Affairs and Heritage Department announces the selection of Sikkim by the Expert Selection Committee to participate in the Republic Day parade to be held in 2019. Moreover, this year Among 31 states and UTs vying a spot for the Republic Day parade in the Capitol in 2019 to showcase a tableaux, Sikkim is among the 14 States that made it after five rounds of selection process.
The upcoming Republic Day 2019 will be unique as all state tableaux will showcase on the theme commemorating 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Sikkim tableaux shall portray the transformation of Sikkim into total organic farming State in the country and achieving the first Nirmal Rajya status in the country.
Sikkim has steadfastly worked towards achieving grassroots empowerment supporting local businesses organic produce and products and has endeavored to save the integrity of soil and nature by practicing non-violence in agriculture and environment.
