Adhoc teachers in Sikkim today launched a sit-in-protest outside the HRDD today demanding regularisation and continuation of their services. After hours of Protest HRDD Minister along with the officials held a meeting with the representatives of adhoc teachers.
During the dialogue HRDD has agreed to give continuation of service to teachers from Jan 1 which will continue till Dec 31 2019 along with paid salary for the summer and winter vacation said the protestor.
Demand for 50% reservation to adhoc teachers in any government service to fill up vacancy was also raised and the Department has assured that 30 to 50 percent will be reserved for the adhoc teachers. It was further informed that SSA teachers will also continue to receive their salary.
But the regularisation of the teachers serving five years clearly rejected by the Department as per the Adhoc teachers.
“We fail to understand why they can’t implement what CM has assured,” said the protestors.
They have stated that such a protest became imperative when the department didn’t pay any heed to their ultimatum given before.
The protestors have also lodged their dissatisfaction over the reduction of salary of SSA teacher’s to 7000 rupees from 10000 rupees.
The protesters have said that tilla concrete assurance is not given by department they will continue their sit in dharna inside the head office.
It is to be mentioned here that there has not been any official statement given by the HRDD Officials or the minister in this regard as protest is still going on.
The adhoc teachers have lodged their dissatisfaction for not getting any concrete assurance from the Department and warned to continue protest until their demands are met.
