In the wake of series of violence across the state South District working committee of Sikkim Democratic Front party listed out cases of violence against SDF supporters which have taken place in the state ever since the SKM formed the government in 23rd May 2019.
Alleging of SKM causing violence post-election South District working committee of Sikkim Democratic Front has submitted a memorandum to District collector, South on July 1.
The law and order situation under the SKM government has fallen apart and society has been witnessing several illegal incidents post-election result said in a memo.
Several residential premises and vehicles has been damaged with an ill intention to cause unnecessary loss and damages to the SDF party supporters and a several complaints has been lodged in police stations. SKM supporters have physically assaulted and gave an open threat to the SDF Supporters SDF alleged.
“In the past few months, the way such activities have increased, is a matter of great concern, On 27 June SDF supporters were targeted on a broad day light, they have been threaten publicly and their vehicles has been damaged massively.
SDF in a memorandum to DC alleged that the ruling party supporters is using different kind of weapons and arms thereby safety and security of the general public has also been a matter of great concern.
That there are also the victim of such incidents have been compelled to commit suicide as they had been threatened to an extent that they will not be spared SDF alleged.
The DWC South has requested DC south to look into the matter seriouslt as the situations in south district especially in reference with Namchi Singithang and Poklok Kamrang constituencies are not so good rather it has been degrading day by day.
