Politics is a serious subject and should be in the responsible hands: CM
Gangtok, Feb 2
Huge numbers of workers and supporters of opposition parties of Sikkim from different parts of the State have joined the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front party here at Samman Bhawan on Saturday. It is informed that more than 1100 workers and supporters of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Party and other opposition parties from Maneybong-Dentam, Soreng-Chakung, Yuksom-Tashiding, Martam-Rumtek, Upper Tadong and other constituencies have officially joined SDF party. On the occasion, SDF Party President, the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has handed over flags and literatures of the party to them.
While welcoming them in the party, the CM asserted that it was important to understand the principle, programmes and vision of the party to be a true SDF member otherwise it would just be a physical joining. He stated that SDF party was formed in the demand of the people of Sikkim to fulfil their all hopes and aspiration. “We have been working tirelessly for the people of Sikkim by standing still on our principles, programmes and vision by running a regional party for 26 years now and by providing a stable government so far to the people,” he expressed.
Mr Chamling said the politics was a serious subject and should be in the responsible hands. He asserted that a leader needs to be serious and responsible so it was very important for the people to identify the right leader by seeing the past track record.
CM stated that in around 370 years of the history of Sikkim, the unprecedented development took place in Sikkim in these 24 years of SDF government. “This unprecedented development is the big milestone and we have created a new history with our works and development in Sikkim which cannot be broken even in next 100 years,” he said. He mentioned that infrastructures and institutions created by SDF government were for the future of Sikkim. He added that all works of SDF government were future-centric and for sustainable development.
Mr Chamling asserted that now it was the duty and responsibility of the people to protect and maintain the development of Sikkim to take it forward. “The next phase of our development and programme will be qualitative development and the make the people of Sikkim the best human resource in the world. Our total focus would be on qualitative development, human resource development and qualitative and life oriented education in our next government,” he expressed.
On the demand of adhoc teachers for regularisation of their service, the CM stated that the equal rights and opportunity can be guaranteed in the democracy but not equal result or success. “Our work is to ensure the equal opportunity and protection to all but an individual need to be competent, build capacity and work hard to get the desired result and success,” he said.
CM asserted that every Sikkimese needs to stay in the unity and harmony in the interest of Sikkim and its people. He stated that SDF government has been taking all communities and sections together by provided them the equal protection and opportunities. He alleged that the anti-people elements and exploiters have been trying to bring division and unrest in the society by doing conspiracy.
He informed that the left out genuine candidates of One Family One Job scheme would get the order within 15 February. On the same, he stated that the oppositions have been trying to create misinformation on this scheme by calling it just for three years. “The people need to see the works of our government in these 24 years to trust my words. We have made the rule for the regularisation of job after five years so every job will be regularise automatically after five years,” he said.
