Chief Minister of Sikkim P.S Tamang has extended his warm greetings on the occasion of Armed Force Flag Day in honour of the soldiers, airmen, and sailors of India who fought to safeguard the country’s honour.
In his message, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude towards the Armed Forces personnel for their sacrifice and remembered those who attained martyrdom in the defense of our country. He has also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the families of armed forces and the importance of the day duly encouraging people to participate and contribute to the cause.
The Armed Force Flag day is observed every year on December 7 since 1949. The three branches of the Armed Forces the Indian Army, the Indian Airforce and the Indian Navy organise numerous programs to showcase their effort towards National security. The funds collected are used for the welfare of serving personnel, ex-servicemen and to rehabilitate battle casualties. Small flags are also distributed this day in return for donations.
On this occasion, it being civilian responsibility towards the army and their family members, the Chief Minister has appealed to everyone to support and generously donate towards the welfare of our Armed Forces, who serve our Nation day and night with selfless dedication.
