Opposition partiesdocent have any strong programme and stand for the people: Neeru Sewa

A meeting of the constituency-level election campaign and monitoring committee of Sikkim Democratic Front party for Shyari constituency was held at Mehrung-Namok in Lower Shyari on Wednesday. The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of a senior citizen of the area, Gampu Sherpa, has the chairperson of the committee and former Minister, Neeru Sewa and Shyari constituency incharge and SDF Spokesperson, KT Gyaltsen along with panchyats and party workers.
In her address, Ms Sewa stated that opposition parties were going around the State without any strong programme and stand for the people. She urged the party workers to further strengthening the organisation to take the election campaigning with new pace. She also asserted that the party workers should take the vision of the party to the people. She stressed upon the importance of the single vote of the people to make a democratic government.
Ms Sewa appealed to come together for the party in the upcoming election and not any individual or leader. She added that SDF party can only make the future of Sikkim and its people due to its policies and principles. While refuted allegations of opposition, she stated that women of Sikkim have been enjoying their every right only after the formation of SDF government in the State. She added that SDF government has empowered women of Sikkim in educations, social, political, financial and other areas. She asserted that oppositions were not sincere for the protection and welfare of women.
In his address, SDF Spokesperson stressed that the people should see the works of the SDF government in the interest of Sikkim and its people. He added that SDF government has been working for the overall development of Shyari constituency although it does not have MLA of the SDF party. On the same, he added that it was principle of the party.
Mr Gyaltsen stated that SKM MLA from the constituency has been totally failed to take any of people’s work to the government and has not provided any social or personal help to any person of the constituency. On the same, he stressed that there was need of SDF MLA from the area for the further development of Shyari constituency.
Mr Gyaltsen mentioned that the CM Pawan Chamling has been working for Shyari as its own MLA and the people should see various developmental works of SDF government in the constituency. He added that Sikkim has been witnessing an unprecedented development in all sectors due to programme and policies and the vision of the CM. He urged the people not to get misguide from false assurance and hopes of oppositions but to give the full mandate to SDF party in the upcoming election.
Mr Gyaltsen also strongly protested an attempt of anti-social elements to damage Bhusuk wooden bridge to obstruct the meeting. He urged the party workers to work continuously by following the policies and principles of the party.
Mr Gyaltsen, who is also the incharge of the constituency claimed that SKM leader, PS Golay cannot contest in the coming elections, which is contended by the Supreme Court and not by the SDF party. He also maintained that even if Golay contest the elections, it will not affect SDF party to form the next government in the State.
On the same, he stated that it would not make any difference whether PS Golay can contest or not. Sikkim’s future will be in danger in case any of the opposition parties form the government Mr. Gyaltsen caution the public.
