Twenty five days Skill Development Training on Job Role “Solar Pump Technician” commenced from today at College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology, Ranipool. The Training is being organised by The College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology (CAEPHT), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Ranipool, and was sponsored by Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI). 20 participants are attending the Skill Development Training on Job Role “Solar Pump Technician”.
The objectives of the skill development training on Job Role “Solar Pump Technician” is to Assessing the installation site, understanding the installation pre-requisites, arranging for installation materials, mounting and installing the panels at suitable location; connecting the panel to the battery and pump; connecting pump to the water source and ensuring effective functioning of solar energy system after installation
The training was inaugurated by Prof. P. P. Dabral, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology, Ranipool, Gangtok, Sikkim as Chief Guest and Dr. R. P. Misra, Professor, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, CAEPHT, Ranipool, Gangtok, Sikkim as Special Guest.
While welcoming, Prof. Mahendra S. Sevda, Professor and Head, Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, Course Director, welcomed all the distinguished Guests, faculty members & participants and briefed the purpose and schedule of the 25 days Skill Development Training on Job Role “Solar Pump Technician”. Dr. R. P. Misra mentioned that the solar energy is used today in a number of ways: Electricity generation, drying, water pumping, water heating, etc.
Prof. P. P. Dabral, Chief Guest highlighted the job of the Solar Pump Technician is to install the solar PV module on a mount/pole, connect it to the battery/inverter and the pump and connect the pump to the water source and destination.
Mr. S. M. Kamaruzzaman, Assistant Professor, Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, extended the vote of thanks to the Chief Gust, Special Guest, Course Director, participants, faculty members and other distinguished guests, informed in a press release issued by Prof. Mahendra S.
