CM announces promotion of all employees working in Govt Sector

The Gram Swaraj Abhiyan for 2019 also known as Janta Mela which started from Gangtok, East District on 16th Jan concluded on Monday at Kyongsa sports ground of Geyzing, West Sikkim.
Chief minister Pawan Chamling had graced the event as chief guest. Also present in the event were ministers, MLAs, panchayat members and people from different constituencies of west Sikkim. Tokens of various government benefits and schemes were distributed to people of four constituency namely Maneybung – Dentam constituency, Yuksom Tashiding, Geyzing – Bermiok and Yangthang constituency.
Chief minister Pawan Chamling in his address shared that Janta Mela is an initiative of the SDF government to deliver the government’s benefits at the doorsteps of the people. He said that Janta Mela is a unique way of serving the people and fulfilling their needs.
Saying that benefits of Janta Mela should reach to each and every Sikkimese, chief minister said that if some people have failed to make to list of beneficiaries then MLAs and Panchayat members should submit the report to the chief minister within 5th February. He informed that the benefits to the left out people will be provided within 15 February. The benefits meant for the people must reach them in an easy way’, he said.
Describing the achievement of the SDF government chief minister Pawan Chamling stated that development of all the public sectors have been initiated. He claimed that among the north eastern states Sikkim stands tall in terms of economic development and Sikkim is a state having no extreme poverty. He added that homeless people are being resettled through housing schemes. Stating that education sector has got major boost under SDF government chief minister claimed that Sikkim is a state having 100% literacy rate. Reminding the people about state government’s mission to eradicate tuberculosis from Sikkim, chief minister informed that the state will be a TB free state by 2022. “Sikkim is number one state in terms of happiness index. The average life expectancy of Sikkimese people has shot up from 62 years to 72 years and our target is to take the life expectancy rate to 100 years”, he said.
He expressed that the state government has worked committedly for wholesome development of the state. Chief Minister, exhorted that in order to make Sikkim a progressive and prosperous state the involvement of MLAs, ministers, bureaucrats and panchayat members in dealing with the state affairs in better way is necessary.
Chief Minister Pawan announced that promotions of all the government employees will be initiated by the state government very soon. Everybody serving the different government sectors will get promoted’, he said. Claiming that promotions of D and C graded employees get delayed most of the time, chief minister asserted that he would be handling the matter personally this time around.
Speaking about the people who are desirous of changing the government, chief minister maintained that if there was a person or the political parties who can serve Sikkim in better way than the SDF then the party would have stepped down to pave the way for other political parties to lead the state. But there is none he added.
He alleged that opposition parties are poisoning the minds of the people with negative propagandas and it was disappointing to see the people falling prey to politics of falsehood and delusions.
He called for people’s participations in the sectors such as tourism and agriculture, claiming that opportunities are immense in the above sectors for ensuring easy means of livelihood and economic stability.
He appealed the people to make most of the facilities and resources available in the state. He said that he anticipates that Janta Mela was fruitful and the SDF government has served the Sikkimese to the fullest.
