A 28-member team of Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association [SATA] is representing Sikkim in the 35th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi and 9th National Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2019 to be held from 27 to 30 January at GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. The State team is leaving for the championship on Wednesday. The team will be accompanied by Sanjay Subba, Saroj Gurung and PempaDoma Tamang as team coaches and Chandra Mukhia as team manager.
The team has undergone through a two-week long coaching camp at White Hall complex for the championship.
In a small function held here at White Hall complex on Tuesday, SATA executive members have expressed their best wishes to the team members for the championship and encouraged to give their best to win medals for the State.
“Around 60% of the team members are participating for the first time in the national level championship. All are in a good form and all set to give their best in the championship. We are very hopeful for more medals for the State this time,” SATA assistant chief coach, Rajen Subba expressed. SATA has thanked the Chief Minister for his support to the association.
